Lightworks is an entrancing series of abstract photographic images. Subject matter consists of artificial light sources where light, motion, speed, time, and the stochastic nature of the universe are employed in the creative process.

Lightworks are chance captured. Motion stilled. Beauty sought and found.  The photographs are the product of thoughtful consideration, deliberate manipulation of subject matter, as well as happy accidents.

"Light and time," is the deliberately short and vague answer Lindenmayer gives when asked about the content of these photos. He leaves the responsibility upon the viewer to decipher "what" these images are. The photographs, however, do have an intended purpose. Lightworks offer opportunities to center one's mind and body. They act as concentration pieces that give viewers a point of focus to contemplate meaning. They allude to the emergence of cosmic order born out of chaos.

The images have psychological value as well. In the same vein that the Rorschach Test is used to label personalities, Lindenmayer has been deeply intrigued by the descriptive reactions of the mind's eye to the work.

These images were captured using both 35 mm and 2 1/4 film. There is no digital manipulation involved in the printing process.

Many of the images from the Lightworks series have been sequenced into short animated Quicktime movies to be projected behind live improvised music.
